"Bedtime Bible Stories"

From the Book of Mark,
Chapter 16, Verses 1-8

Three days after Jesus had been crucified, Mary Magdalene, the other Mary and some other women came to the tomb to place perfumes on the body, which was the custom back then. They were talking amongst themselves trying to figure out how they were going to move the huge stone out of the way of the entrance.

When they reached the tomb they were surprised to see the stone had already been rolled aside. They carefully entered the tomb.

Inside, sitting on the right side of where Jesus' body had been, was a young man dressed in the whitest robe the women had ever seen. They were very surprised and frightened to see him.

The young man said to them, "Why are you here? Are you looking for Jesus who was crucified? He's not here! He's come back to life just like he said he would! "Look here where his body was. It's no longer here. "Now go and give this message to his disciples, including Peter: Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died!"

The women turned and ran from the tomb. They realized the young man in white must have been an angel. And it was true. Jesus had come back from the dead!
