"Hagar and the Angel"

From the Book of Genesis Chapter 16, Verses I -15

Even though God had promised Abram that he would have many descendants, he and his wife Sarai had no children. Sarai had a servant girl named Hagar. Sarai told Abram that since they had no children, Hagar's child could be Abram's son.
Hagar thought that this was a great honor. Her son would be the great Abram's son. She became very proud and arrogant when she learned she was going to have a baby. Sarai became very angry at the way Hagar was behaving. Hagar was frightened of Sarai's anger and ran away into the desert.
After a time, Hagar became tired of running and sat down to rest by a spring at the edge of the desert. All of a sudden, a angel of the Lord appeared before her. "Why are you running away?" the angel asked Hagar.
"My mistress is angry with me," Hagar cried.
"Go back," the angel assured her. "Your baby is going to be a boy. You will name him Ishmael, which means 'God hears.' God has heard of your troubles and promises that Ishmael will grow to be a strong warrior whom no one will be able to defeat."
So Hagar returned to Sarai and told her what the angel said. From then on she was a good servant to Sarai. When Ishmael was born, he was the son of Abram and became a mighty warrior just as God had promised.
From that day forward, the spring where Hagar saw the angel of the Lord was named "Beerlahairoi," which means, "The Well of the All-Seeing God."
