Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips. Tips
Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake batter onto the hot griddle - perfect shaped pancakes every time.
To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling.Run your hands under cold water before pressing Rice Krispies treats in the pan-the marshmallow won't stick to your fingers.
When making rice krispie treats put a baggie over your hand dip into the butter and pat down then pull baggie off inside out and toss keeps hands clean and not to expensive can also be reused if making more than one batch.

temperature and roll them under your palm against the kitchen
counter before squeezing.
To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stove-top -- skillet will be much easier to clean now.
Spray your Tupperware with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in
tomato-based sauces -- no more stains.
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead-no white mess on the outside of the cake.
If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato -- it absorbs the excess salt for an instant "fix me up".
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator -- it will keep for weeks.
Brush beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful, glossy finish.
Place a slice of apple in hardened brown sugar to soften it back up.
When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out
the corn's natural sweetness.
To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool,
salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh -- if it rises to the surface, throw it away.
Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
If you have problem opening jars: Try using latex dishwashing gloves.
They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
Potatoes will take food stains off your fingers. Just slice and rub
raw potato on the stains and rinse with water.
To get rid of itch from mosquito bite: try applying soap on the area
for instant relief.
Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross a
chalk line. So get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or
wherever ants tend to march -- see for yourself.
Use air-freshener to clean mirrors: It does a good job and better
still, leave a lovely smell to the shine.
When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.
NOW Look what you can do with Alka Seltzer:
Clean a toilet. Drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets, wait
twentyminutes, brush, and flush. The citric acid and effervescent
action clean vitreous china.
Clean a vase. To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or
cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets.
Polish jewelry. Drop two Alka-Seltzer tablets into a glass of water
and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.
Clean a thermos bottle. Fill the bottle with water, drop in four
Alka-Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if
necessary).
Unclog a drain. Clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka-Seltzer
tablets down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White Vinegar Wait a few minutes, then run the hot water.
If your VCR has a year setting on it, which most do, you will not be
able to use the programmed recording feature after 12/31/99. Don't throw it away. Instead set it for the year 1972 as the days are the same as the year 2000. The manufacturers won't tell you. They want you to buy a new Y2K VCR. Pass this along to all your friends.Homemade Soft Scrubs-Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda and a bit of all purpose liquid detergent such as Murphy´s Oil Soap into a bowl. Stir, adding more soap until the mixture has the consistency of frosting. Rinse. Makes an excellent scrub for the bathtub or sink.
Air Freshener- Mix together 4-5 sprigs of mint with 4 cups of water.Simmer on the stove.
Carpet Deodorizer- Sprinkle baking soda onto carpets, let sit for an hour then vacuum.
All-Purpose Cleaner- Mix 2 teaspoons of borax, 1/2 teaspoon dish soap with 2 cups of warm water. Blend.
Homemade Paint Stripper- Make a very thick paste of washing soda and water (wear gloves because it is caustic), spread with a putty knife on the surface to be stripped. Let it set for several hours, keeping it as moist as possible with water sprayed from a spray bottle. Rinse and peel off the paint. (Test this to make sure the moisture doesn´t damage the wood.)
Overnight Oven Cleaner
1/2 cup ammonia
2 tablespoons mild dishwashing liquid
2 quarts hot waterPour ammonia into the measuring cup and place in the oven. Close the oven door and leave overnight. The next day, remove the ammonia. Mix dishwashing liquid and water in a bucket. Use a plastic mesh scrubber to wash out loosened grease and grime.
Lemon Oil furniture Polish
1 bottle mineral oil (1 quart)
1 tablespoon lemon oilAdd lemon oil into the bottle of mineral oil. Shake to mix. To use, wipe it on and wipe it off with a clean cloth.
Homemade Odor Eaters- Stir 2 tsps ground cinnamon into 2 cups water and bring to a simmer on the stove!
Polishing Paste (For Tarnished silverware, bathtubs, stainless steel sinks, toilets) Mix equal parts baking soda and warm water.
Liquid Cleaner- Mix 2 tablespoons baking soda with 1 pint warm water in a spray bottle. Use for mopping vinyl floors,cleaning compact disks or washing windows.
All Purpose Cleaner- Use 1 tsp. liquid soap, 1 tsp. borax, squeeze of lemon or
splash of vinegar in 1 qt. of warm water or 2 teaspoons borax, 1 teaspoon soap and 1 quart water in a spray bottle. Add vinegar or washing soda to cut grease.Disinfectant- Use 1/4 cup borax in 1/2 gallon hot water.
Drain Cleaner- To keep drains open or to clear sluggish drains before the become clogs, plug the overflow drain with a wet rag and pour a mixture of 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain periodically . Flush with hot water.
Floor And Furniture Polish- Mix 1 part vegetable and 1 part lemon juice or vinegar and apply a thin coat. Rub in well with a soft cloth. On unwaxed wood use vegetable oil and lemon oil to replenish shine. Or mix 3 parts olive oil and 1 part vinegar or 1 part lemon juice with 2 parts olive oil. You can buff with a solution of cool black tea.
Floor Cleaner (linoleum)- Use 1/2 cup vinegar in 1/2 gallon warm water. Polish with club soda.
Disinfectant. Make a solution of 3 tbs. liquid soap, 2 cups water, and 20-30 drops of tea tree oil.
Glass Cleaner- Use 1 tablespoon vinegar in water. Rinse with water and dry with soft towel.Glass Cleaner- Try white vinegar and newspaper.
Glass Cleaner- Try 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 qt. warm water. Dry with soft towel.
